Mesopotamia
1. TECHNOLOGY- Wheel, plow, and cuneiform
2. DIVISION of LABOR- There was a social order in Mesopotamia. Kings were at the top of the social hierarchy, because they ruled certain areas.
3. GOVERNMENT-
- If any one bring an accusation of any crime before the elders, and does not prove what he has charged, he shall, if it be a capital offense charged, be put to death.
- If he satisfy the elders to impose a fine of grain or money, he shall receive the fine that the action produces.
4. WRITING- Cuneiform is a system of writing first developed by the ancient Sumerians of Mesopotamia in 3500-3000 BCE.
Egypt
1. TECHNOLOGY- The Egyptians had many inventions, such as the ramp and the lever, to help construction processes.
2. DIVISION of LABOR- In the pyramid of ancient Egypt the pharaoh and those associated with divinity were at the top, and servants and slaves made up the bottom.
3. GOVERNMENT- The pharaoh was the head of state and the representative of the gods on earth.
4. WRITING- . The Egyptians carved hieroglyphs onto stone, painted them on the walls of the tombs, and papyrus.
India
Why is the land important to Indian civilization?- Land is important to the Indian civilization because irrigation is a huge factor in there lives. Also they have a very large population for their amount of land.
Why is India's River Valley Important?- India's river valley is important because the flooding of the valley leaves very fertile soil. Famers use this soil to grow their crops which feed their families and supply them money.
What were Harappa and Mohenjo-Daro like?- Harappa and Mohenjo-Daro are cites with about 35,000 people. In these cites they had wide main streets, small side streets, flat roof houses, courtyards in their houses, and lots more.
What was Harappan society like?- There were no written record of what the society was like. All we know is what people left behind. (toys, tools, and old ruins).
Who were the Aryrans?- The Aryrans are people who lived in central Asia. They were mostly farmers and took pride in their cattle because it was a sense of wealth back then.
What changes do the Aryrans bring?- When the Aryrans settled in India they brought many new things with them. Some things they brought were new religion, writing, the iron plow, and lots more.
