I can explain how Geography played a role in Rome's Origins.
Because of the location of Italy, the climate of Rome was very mild and they had very rich soil for farming. Rome has very large flat plains that allowed more food to be grown, thus creating a larger population.

Rome is located in Italy, which is a peninsula. It was located about 15 miles in the Tiber river from the Mediterranean Sea. Rome was also built on seven hills, which it easy to defend against enemy attacks.

There are many different legends about how Rome began, but the most famous is a story about twin bothers named Romulus and Remus. As babies they were abandoned and were rescued by a she-wolf. They decided to build a city, soon after they got into a fight and Romulus killed Remus. |

The Romans were heavily influenced by the Etruscans and the Greeks, these two groups helped shaped the Roman culture, The Greeks helped Romans grow foods such as grapes and olives, and Romans even adopted the Greek alphabet. Romas eventually coped the Greek architecture, sculptures, and literature. |

Rome was so powerful due to their strong army. Every male citizen who owned land was required to serve in the army. Discipline was very harsh, and people who left were punished by death. They were good problem solvers and good planners. |

The Romans expanded throughout Italy, they built permanent military settlements in the ares they conquered. They built roads that allowed troops to travel anywhere. Rome started out with kings, but later rebelled and created a republic. Starting a republic allowed citizens to be in control of the decisions that are made.
